This is not just a series of workshops. This is a unique opportunity to spend time with Aviva at her beautiful home and studio in the countryside just outside Essaouira, sharing her inside knowledge of this special place. Over the course of three days (or more, by arrangement ) you will experience hidden corners of this wonderful Atlantic city, visit country souks and immerse yourself in the textile culture of this beautiful land. Aviva will share her knowledge and skills in hands-on workshops, designed with your project and textile interests in mind. Plant dyed wool or fabric, resist dyeing and printing, indigo vats, hand weaving and slow stitch projects are all possible. Come away inspired with a bag full of samples, happy memories and loads of ideas!
Start your adventure in Essaouira. We’ll whisk you away from the hustle and bustle to the peaceful countryside a ten minute drive away from the city. You will be staying in a purpose built en-suite studio with use of the garden and swimming pool and taking part in hands-on dyeing and weaving workshops with Aviva.
We’ve also included an excursion or two to ensure you really get a taste of authentic Moroccan country life with plenty of time to relax and explore your own creativity using local materials, enjoying home grown produce and healthy meals.
