Anella Collection
Henna is the basis of the colour palette for a collection of handwoven pillows and throws - created from rare breed Siroua wool.

  • Siroua sheep

    The Wool

Woven using 100% hand sheared wool from the Siroua sheep, a rare breed found only in Morocco's Atlas Mountains and prized throughout the country for its soft, silky fibers

  • Drop Spin Tools

    The Yarn

Applying age-old techniques, the raw fleece is hand-washed by village women in high mountain streams and hand-spun on traditional drop spindles in their own homes

  • Desert landscape with sparse vegetation and a traditional adobe building in a dry, arid environment.

    The Design

Inspiration is all around. Stunning scenery and local architecture provide texture and colour direction.

  • Colorful yarn skeins in shades of orange, yellow, and beige with handwritten notes on paper indicating yarn weight and color codes placed on a patterned surface.

    The Colour

The yarn is hand-dyed in our dyeing studios using the Henna plant sourced directly from a small plantation close to the Sahara desert

  • A close-up view of a weaving loom with partially woven brown fabric and wooden loom bars, outdoors on patterned tile floor.

    The Cloth

After creating my first samples on my trusty Ashford loom, the cloth is hand woven by local artisans using traditional horizontal looms.

  • Five multicolored cushions arranged on a sofa against a textured mauve wall.

    The Products

A collection of handwoven wool pillows and throws in a range of shades created from Henna and other natural ingredients.
